Launched in 1983, the BIRKENSTOCK Gizeh has since become one of our most recognized and sought-after sandals. For its 40th anniversary, we bring back the original design for a limited-edition anniversary collection, with its buckle, footbed stamp, outsole and packaging all inspired by the 1983 original. Every pair of the limited edition bears is own unique number and comes with the red BIRKENSTOCK seal and matching socks.
To celebrate 40 years and the "Socks & 'Stocks" look made popular by our fans, each style comes with a retro-inspired pair of socks to complete the throwback feel.

Upper material: Natural leather
The natural leather that we use is mostly smooth leather, in some cases tumbled leather. This type of leather has many special characteristics, such as breathability, adaptation to the shape of the foot and durability.Insole: Natural leather
Natural leather can be recognized by its untreated surface. BIRKENSTOCK purposely does not treat surface grains and other characteristic features. BIRKENSTOCK uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material.Footbed material: Cork
Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark layer of the cork oak. This natural product is insulating and offers very good cushioning.Outsole: EVA
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) is a high-quality, very light, elastic material with extremely good cushioning. As a result, it smooths out slight irregularities in the floor and ensures that every step is softly cushioned.
